Ok, so I have a confession- My name is Alecia and I am a celebritytrashmagazine- aholic. In Touch, US Weekly, even National Enquirer, I can't get enough. I used to say "oh, I am just looking for the photo techniques." But seriously, I will probably never be a papparazzi, so why am I even looking. I have become totally addicted to what these celebrities are doing, where are they shopping, what are they wearing and who are they dating.
I realize that I am no the only person with this unusual addiction.. when I get together with my friend Jenn or my sister, we talk about these celebrities like they are our best friends. And I did cry when Jen and Brad broke up, all though I reserve judgement on Angelina (for now).

One of the magazines that I love that I call, "High Class Trash" is In Style. In Style does a great job of giving us the glamorous lives of celebrites and still being their pal. You never see anyone on the pages of In Style looking like they were partying too hard the night before or scowling at the camera. I tivoed In Style celebrity weddings from last week and watched it last night. If you are getting married or a celebrity-aholic, I recommend tivoing this show. It is usually on 3 times a year and it is very cool to see these B list celebrities getting married. Of course they are all just looking to bloster their careers but they do contain some great ideas that you could scale down for you wedding.

Another wedding TV show that I absolutely can't get enough of is Real Weddings from The Knot on Oxygen. This show gives you everything that goes on behind the scenes for a wedding, people freaking out, crying, then freaking out again. Usually they do a marathon on Sundays and I get sucked into it. Then I don't get off my couch all day while reading In Touch.

Albums! Albums everywhere! I have just spent the past few days immersed in wedding album land and have returned victorious! Mission Accomplished. I have laid out, re laid out and finally sent them to the printer and binding companies.

Building and ordering wedding albums are a GIGANTIC deal and take a massive amount of time. These books are the way that people are going to remember their wedding day so I always spend a lot of time laying out the photos and working with the client to make sure the album exceeds every expectation. Albums are not cheap- depending on what size and the type of album- you could spend up to $3,000 on one album. To make sure you get exactly what you want, take a look at your friends albums, look on the internet. Then talk to your photographer about what your vision would be for the perfect album. This article could get you thinking about it, Photography: An Insider's Guide to the Perfect Album.

Congratulations to Eddie and Shirley!
They are getting married on April 8th at the Crowne Plaza Ravinia.
We had a blast at Piedmont Park taking these pictures and I am so excited to be shooting their wedding.

I always get asked "What are engagement pictures for?" So, here is my answer- An engagement picture is typically a professional photo taken to use with your engagement announcement or to create a wedding web page. Most photographers will include it in their various packages or offer it a la carte. While it is not required, it is a nice chance to get some great pictures of you and your fiance (and show off your ring). But if this isn't your thing or money's tight, skip it (or you could ask your photographer to throw it in as a bonus for you signing a contract that day- just a thought.) You can always use a favorite picture that you already have for announcements in your local papers or website.

Every one has a personal style. Are you outdoorsy? City girl? I took the What is Your Wedding Style? Quiz - no need for drama- I am NOT engaged. I was on modernbride.com, taking a look at the latest trends in everything wedding, stumbled on this and thought it was very cool. I suggest that every newly engaged bride take a look at what makes them feel very happy and at peace before they settle on any wedding arrangements. If you don't feel comfortable in a BIG church, maybe get married on the beach. Don't want sand between your toes, what about a country club? The possibilites are endless!

By the way - I would be an Outdoorsy Bride

After all these posts, I realized that I have not shown any pictures of my dogs.

The brown one is Corona AKA "The Beast." She is a total junk yard dog, she eats everything in sight and loves to roll in the dirt, especially after we give her a bath. When we adopted her from the Dekalb Humane Society, she was the only dog that did not bark and we (foolishly) thought she would be a quiet, easy dog. Corona is anything but quiet or easy. Once she ate the top of a tankini and threw it up 2 weeks later whole, on Christmas day, in front of our Christmas tree, surrounded by my family. Corona's favorite thing to do is sit at the window and watch the squirrels and birds in the back yard.

The black one is Dexter Love AKA "Little Buddy". I got Dexter when I was in college and he got used to running the place. He refuses to sleep on the floor or anything hard, he must sleep on fluffy pillows at all times. He wears a little plaid sweater during the winter and thinks he looks rather dapper in it. His favorite thing to do is sleep on a pillow on the couch under a blanket.
